What sizes do you offer?
There's only one size for the ECTO Chair. While ECTO TOPR comes in two sizes,
standard and long. To know which TOPR matches you for a great fit, simply measure
the seat depth and chair back height. Add those two measurements and select the
TOPR that is the closest match for a great fit.
Is it comfortable / attractive / discreet?
The ECTO Chair and TOPR were designed/engineered to integrate the cooling
technology in a discreet way. The chair and TOPR look amazing, are incredibly
comfortable, and will keep you cool all day.
Which option is best for me?

Can I use the ECTO Chair or TOPR with any cooler?
The ECTO Chair and TOPR are designed to be used with a soft sided cooler. The
design of most soft sided coolers allow the trunk to be inserted in the cooler and zipped
to seal out the heat. You can utilize a hard sided cooler, but the trunk line may not allow
the lid to close completely. A high quality soft sided 12 can cooler full of ice and your
favorites beverages will keep the chair/TOPR cool for up to 8 hrs at temps around 90
degrees. The cooler only needs 1 inch of water after it is filled with ice for the system to

Does a cooler come with the ECTO Chair or TOPR?
The chair and TOPR do not come with a cooler. Most 12-can or larger soft sided coolers
loaded with ice at the start of the day will provide cooling all day and have plenty of
room for your favorite beverages.
How does it work?
ECTO Artica Cooling uses over 50 feet of thermal micro tubing, a 5v rechargeable
lithium-ion battery, a micro pump, and controller coupled with your cooler to provide up to 10 hours of cooling with temperature down to 45 degrees on the entire seat and seat back. It pulls ice cold water from a cooler and circulates it through the seating surface
where it comes into direct contact with your body and pulls heat out of you. Animation

If I purchase the Ecto Chair do I also need the Ecto TOPR?
No, the Ecto Chair has the same cooling technology as the Ecto TOPR. The chair has
the cooling technology built seamlessly into the chair. The Ecto TOPR allows you to
add cooling to almost any chair you already own.
What is the uniqueness of the technology?
ECTO uses a patent pending system to create cooling for your core with temperatures
down to 45 degrees for the chair seat and back. With three levels of cooling, you can

What accessories are available for the chair?
The ecto chair comes with one cup holder that can be installed on the right or left. It
also has an additional slot for a second cup holder. Many people use one for their
beverage and one for their phone. An extra cup holder can be purchased at any time

What are the dimensions and weight of the ECTO TOPR?
Standard: total length is 44" x 16" cooling pad itself is 36” X 16”, and 16" x 9.5" x 6" is
the rolled up dimension, it weighs 4.0lbs. Long: total length is 50" x 16" cooling pad
itself is 42” X 16”, and 16" x 9.5" x 7" is the rolled up size, it weighs 4.4lbs. Quick

What is the battery life? Hours of continuous use? How to charge?
The 5v ECTO battery can run the system for up to 10 hrs. on its coldest setting with
additional power to support charging your phone. To charge, simply connect to the USB
connector on the battery use the charging cord to charge the battery for the next use.

Does the Ecto Canopy for the chair protect me from the sun?
Yes, the Ecto Canopy has an SPF +50 rating.
What kind of sensors are you using?
We utilize overload sensors, timers, and other safety features to ensure all our products
pass the most rigorous safety/quality standards.
Will there be updates to it in the future?
We have an entire line of ECTO Lifestyle products in development and we will continue
to add features to our future products.
Is it waterproof?
The ECTO Chair and TOPR are designed to be water resistant. You may clean the
ECTO Chair and TOPR with dish soap and water then allow to dry prior to storage or
use.
Do the Ecto Chair or TOPR cause your clothes to get wet while using?
The cooling lines contain the water that is used for cooling and recirculate the water
back to your cooler. On hot and humid days a small amount of condensation may be
visible on the chair or TOPR fabric. Only use the chair or TOPR with clothing or on a
surface that is water safe.
How do I set it up?

How do I turn it on and off?
Through a power button, press the cooling button to turn it on. Hold the button for 3
seconds to turn it off.
How do I control it?
After turning on the cooling function press the button again momentarily for medium
cooling and press again momentarily for low cooling. Blue is high cooling, cyan (light
blue) is medium cooling, and white is low cooling.
How do you clean and maintain my Chair or TOPR?
Use soap and water for spot cleaning on the chair or TOPR. Allow the chair or TOPR to
dry completely prior to storing. Add one cap of bleach to a gallon of water and allow the
chair or TOPR to run for 10 mins. on high cooling once every 3 months during the
Spring through Fall seasons. Remove the trunk from the solution after 10 min with the
cooling function on to drain the system.
What are the recommended ages?
The chair is recommended for individuals ages 13 and over with no underlying medical
conditions creating sensitivity to cold, mobility, circulation, or recent surgeries. Consult your doctor prior to use if any of these conditions exist.
Where can I use it?
The ECTO Chair and TOPR can be used indoors or outdoors, providing personalized
cooling and added comfort in various settings such as the beach, sporting events,
camping, fishing, hunting, by the pool, or on the porch.
Is it safe?
ECTO's 5v cooling system coupled with an ECTO Power Bank with overload and
overcharge protection create a system with multiple safety features to deliver a safe and
comfortable experience.
What certifications do you have?
The ECTO Power Bank is UL certified and the ECTO Chair and TOPR are also tested
to UL standards.
How durable is it?
The ECTO Chair is recommended for users under 300 lbs. and the TOPR is rated for
users up to 400 lbs.
How long does the ice last?
We tested with a high quality medium sized zip up cooler that had some drinks in it at
90F – lasted all day. In other hotter testing… the most extensive testing was done in
temps ranging from 84F to 117 F over a day in the summer. Testing done with a high-
quality cooler containing 4 drinks, 4 waters, and ice with a small amount of water at the
bottom to start. Ice lasted 7.3 hours. 1 drink was removed every hour. Water was still

Does the water get filtered?
The ECTO Arctica cooling system has a 2-stage filter to keep dirt and debris out of the
pump. The first filter is part of the screw-on end cap at the end of the trunk. The
second is a fine mesh filter which sits inside the chamber accessible by the screw-on
end cap. You can easily clean both by disassembling and using a water hose. Demo

How do you remove the water from the system when done?
Our diaphragm pump will pump air behind the last water intake to purge the whole
system. Leave the pump on for about 30 seconds to push all of the water in the cooling
tubes out. Shake the end of the trunk a bit, wipe it down, and let it dry before storing.
